Ah yes. Memories of high school in the eighties – a mixed race kid in a sea of blondes; a time when showing an ounce of creativity could leave you labelled as “weird” (a badge I wore with honour!). The only saving grace was that down under in Australia, we all had to wear school uniforms, so at least dressed the same. But I do remember living in dread of “plain clothes” days…
