Thanks, Anna, that means a lot to me. I also love the voice that comes through in your poetry. (Even with prose) I think the thing about editors, is finding one in tune with our natural voices. Accomplished as my one-time poetry teacher was, he admitted that natural rhythm and rhyme, or free verse for that matter, weren’t his strong points. So, although he gave me much food for thought — once I recovered from having my first poem savaged by him (not the one I referred to above), I decided to take his editing suggestions as a guide only. Good luck in finding the right editor for your prose! And remember — apparently Raymond Carver fought tooth and nail with his editor — although it seems he helped create the prose known and loved by Carver readers.
