That’s because some of the lines were poached (although adapted) from T. S. Eliot – one of the most influential poets (in English) of the 20th century! Check out Preludes and see if you recognise any of the lines/themes. (Memory is also from the musical Cats – where most of the libretto was taken straight from T. S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats – more poetry, although in a comic vein.)
