Zev – yes, read it in the early hours (Oz time) and shared some words with Jonathan about it in comments. I think it’s just a worsening of what’s always been here, at least in the last year or so I’ve been on the platform. Well-written, original, deep, incisive poetry and fiction has always been trumped by the content writers. Have you ever seen a featured post from one of us on the main page? Or heard of any of us getting one of those $100 bonuses, that seem to be handed out like candy to the blog writers, for mediocre posts? The best we can hope for is a tiny “featured” post in the Lit section, if people know to go to page 2 on a desktop/laptop and scroll halfway down… and I don’t know how to find this section on a tablet. The only thing that’s been keeping me here is the community – which includes so many of those lovely people you have tagged – but I must say, I’m seeing less and less of you in my personal feed (as you may have been of me, those that follow me), and I need to go searching the platform, when I’m craving my great poetry/fiction fix. And now I’m hesitating about whether to publish the good stuff here, as it will blow my opportunity to submit it further afield (which, I suspect, is a whole other world of pain). But for the moment, for those of us still (somewhat) throwing our fortunes here, we need to stick together and support each other, and take what we can from the platform while it’s still available. But I wouldn’t waste much loyalty on it, because it sure as hell won’t love you back…
